Remediation: Project Three

After much anticipation built from project two, I was excited to begin working on the third project. For this last project, we were instructed to remediate our previous project using a new media form. The goal was to expand on what we had already accomplished using this new mode, while keeping the audience consistent.

To continue my Radiolab-styled exploration on my father's loss of his first language, I transformed my extended blog post into a podcast. Though much of the material from the second project crosses over to the third, the third projects elaborates on the second by combining recorded conversations editted with my voice as narration, in addition to music and sound clips, to develop a more evocative narrative than was capable in the second project. The two projects supplement each other by using different modes of storytelling to form a comprehensive understanding of my father and the incidincies surrounding his loss of first language.

Making The Langauge Forgotten: A Father's Tale  podcast proved to be an unexpectedly difficult task. I was faced with many technical issues that impeded my progress and almost led me to abandon the project entirely. Nonetheless, I overcame these difficulties and produced what became an extremely rewarding project.
